The second life lesson, take risks. This is Buckley Norris (sp?) right there and right there. He’s in there somewhere. These pictures are taken at the Cannes Film Festival in the South of France. Buckley goes every year to the Cannes Film Festival, rents a house for a month or two, goes to all the premiers and the parties and everything because Buckley sells insurance on motion pictures. So that’s a good job. If any of you in here like numbers, the insurance thing and like movies. Remember I said everything is sold. That is an awesome job. Selling insurance on motion pictures.

So I digress. In any event, when I worked in the movie industry I met Buckley. We were friends, we would hang out, and he said, Kathy, come to Cannes for the film festival. I’ve rented a house, you can have your own room, just come on down for a couple of weeks, all you have to do is just get yourself there. I’ll take you to parties, I’ll take you to premiers or whatever, just come. I didn’t do it because I didn’t want to go into debt. Have I ever been invited to go and stay at the Cannes Film Festival again? No. No I haven’t. So take risks. You can beg, borrow the money. There are ways to make things happen.

Remember we talked about luck? There’s decisions and then there’s luck. This was luck. And I didn’t take advantage of it. So I want to encourage you, when somebody gives you an offer to do a once-in-a-lifetime thing, really move mountains to try to make that happen.
